Getting a new website built can feel like a black box. You hand over money, wait a while, and hope something good comes out the other end. That's not how we work.
This page walks you through our entire process—so you know exactly what to expect at every step.
The 15-Minute Intro Call
This is where we get a rough assessment of where your business currently stands. Before the call, I'll check out your current website (if you have one) and come prepared with some basic observations: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I'll ask about what you're looking to build and check what your goals are with a new website. It's okay if you don't know them yet—I can help you figure that out.
I'll tell you more about the overall process and what you're going to get at the end. The simple version: a modern website that works, so you can focus on your craft, and peace of mind that you aren't losing potential customers due to poor web practices.
Quote & Deposit
If you and I agree that we could be a good fit, I put together a quote based on what we discussed. Once you're ready to move forward, you put down a deposit and we schedule the next step.
The Discovery Interview
This is the really cool part of our process. We'll set up a longer interview with you (expect up to 1 hour)—ideally with the business owner themselves.
I capture a live interview with you to comprehensively get a picture of who you are and what your business is: where you stand out, what you want to focus on, and what you don't want to see.
Instead of asking you to fill out a bunch of forms, I turn your story into a cohesive design. If you still want editorial control over every word on the site, that's fine too—we make sure your voice is your choice.
Why We Do It This Way
Domain Setup
If we need to buy your domain, we can do it for you—this works fine for most people. But if you truly want to own it without any future hurdles (transferring a domain takes a small amount of time in most cases), we offer a 15-minute call where we walk you through the purchase process yourself.
This is a key value differentiator we offer: you own your domain forever, and it will auto-renew so long as your credit card stays active.
By the way—if you ever forget to renew, most hosting providers (we recommend Cloudflare) have generous grace periods for failed credit card payments. You don't have to worry about someone swooping in to buy your domain the minute it expires.
Gathering Your Materials
We'll need to gather your "business collateral." This includes:
- Work photos (recommended): Send me your highlights—some from each job type, so we can put the right photos on the right tabs
- Stock photos: We can source these too and select high-quality content, depending on your budget
- Your logo and brand colors
- Business info: Service names, phone numbers, office hours, email, license info—the whole shebang
We'll make sure we follow your color schemes and comply with any branding you've already established.
Optional: Workshopping Sessions
If you selected additional workshopping sessions with us to develop content, we'll schedule those in before conducting the main build. This is for clients who want more hands-on collaboration—most people don't need it, but it's there if you want it.
The Build
You keep doing what you do best—serving your customers—and I get back to you in 1-2 weeks with the build. We'll map out a schedule and I'll keep you in the loop.
At that point, we'll schedule a call to go over what the website looks like and get your feedback.
Review & Revisions
Ideally, we only have minor revisions to make. But if there's still significant rework needed, we can repeat the previous step.
Usually, our clients just need one signoff on minor rework, and then we're greenlit for deployment.
Go Live
When you're happy with the website and we've agreed on a transition date, I push all of the buttons required to go live—or I send you the source files to get things running on your own.
What Happens After Launch
Your website is live—now what? You have options:
Website Management ($50/month)
- Site stays online and monitored
- Minor updates included (hours, phone, etc.)
- Someone to contact if something seems wrong
Self-Hosted (Free)
- Full source code is yours
- Host on Cloudflare, Vercel, etc. for free
- You handle updates and troubleshooting
Either way, you own everything. No lock-in, no hostage situations. If you want to leave, you take your domain and code with you.
The Bottom Line
Working with us is straightforward: intro call, interview, build, review, launch. No mystery, no hidden steps.
We turn your story into a website that actually works—so you can focus on what you do best.
